How to tell if you’re buying a reliable pre-owned vehicle

For the longest time, the accepted maximum mileage that the majority of vehicles were able to reach was 100,000 miles. With updates to technology and materials, there are more models that are able to get to at least 200,000 miles. Of course, the longevity of your vehicle is dependent upon maintenance, but there are some vehicles that have a precedent for lasting a long time.

How to choose a long-lasting pre-owned vehicle 

Some of these models are from manufacturers who are known for producing reliable, long-lasting vehicles, but there are also some surprises on the top ten list. The study, conducted by iseecars.com, found that the Toyota Sequoia has the most vehicles on the road with over 200,000 miles on the odometer, with a total 6.6%. There are three other Toyota vehicles that are included on the list, including the Toyota 4Runner, Toyota Tacoma, and Toyota Avalon. Other manufacturers that have multiple vehicles represented include Chevrolet with the Suburban and the Tahoe, and GMC which is represented by the GMC Yukon XL and Yukon. The top seven spots were filled by SUV models, while the last three were rounded out by the Toyota Tacoma, a truck, the Toyota Avalon, a sedan, and the Honda Odyssey, a minivan.
